Linda Cardellini is set to join Michael Keaton’s forthcoming McDonald’s biopic, THE FOUNDER. Keaton stars as Ray Kroc, the Illinois salesman who transformed the McDonald brothers’ drive-through burger business into an iconic, national franchise.
Cardellini will play Joan, the third wife of Kroc, who met the food mogul when she was the wife a successful restaurant owner in Minneapolis.
Laura Dern was recently announced to be in talks to play Kroc’s first wife, Ethel, who suffered through his business schemes on the rough road to building his empire. Robert Siegel scripted the drama, with The Blind Side helmer John Lee Hancock to direct.
Cardellini can currently be seen in Marvel’s blockbuster superhero sequel Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which bowed in May, and opposite Kristen Wiig and Wes Bentley in the indie drama Welcome To Me. Up next, she’ll appear alongside Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in the raunchy comedy Daddy’s Home and with Craig Robinson in the dark comedy Lost In Austin.
She’s repped by ICM and Mosaic.
