Lionsgate has picked up the tab for BOTTLE GIRLS, a script described as a ‘female empowerment’ drama from screenwriter Laura Sandler. Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee, Krishnan Menon, Brooklyn Weaver and Adam Stone will produce. Jessica Switch will oversee for Lionsgate, while Gabriel Chu will oversee for Vertigo.
The story details are being kept under wraps, but the film is being pitched as Risky Business and Coyote Ugly, but set in the exclusive world of high-end nightlife and focused on the VIP bottle girls and hosts who’ve become an integral part of the club experience as well as social media influencers.
Sandler is the writer behind Holidates, which is currently set up at Lotus, and co-wrote Face It alongside Amanda Sharp, which has McG attached as a producer.
