Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks Animated Comedy Series Lands at TBS

TBS has given a 10-episode order to Emmy Award-winning Louis C.K.and Oscar-nominated for their animated comedy series THE COPS. The series follows Al (Brooks) and Lou (C.K.), two patrolmen in Los Angeles who try their best to protect and serve, but don’t always succeed.

The Cops is currently the working title for the series which C.K. and Brooks will executive produce alongside Greg Daniels, Dino Stamatopolous, Dave Becky, and Howard Klein. Th comedy is slated to premiere in 2018.

The project is a joint between FX Productions, Turner’s Studio T, as well as C.K.’s Pig Newton banner. C.K. signed an overall deal with FX Productions through Pig Newton. The deal produced Tig Notaro’s “One Mississippi” on Amazon as well as Pamela Adlon’s Better Things and Zach Galifianakis’ Baskets on FX.

This is not C.K.’s first venture into the animated world. He recently voiced the lead character in Universal’s The Secret Life of Pets.

Brooks also voiced a character in The Secret Life of Pets and reprised his role of Marlin in Pixar’s Finding Dory.
