Netflix is making sure that 4/20 is going to be lit. Netflix is celebrating the cannabis holiday by dropping a Lucy Hale fronted stoner comedy called DUDE.
The film follows four friends who are riding the high of high school by bonding over relationships, drugs, and living their best lives. Also, starring is X-Men Apocalypse‘s Alexandra Shipp, Skins alum Kathryn Prescott, and Nora Lum of the upcoming Ocean’s 8 film.
This serves as the first film from writer and director Olivia Milch. Both of Olivia’s 2018 films illustrate her essential drive as a filmmaker: in her words, she loves telling “stories about excellent women, with excellent women.” Dude sprung out of Olivia’s desire to see more realistic portraits of female friendship onscreen.
