Madeleine Stowe has been set for a series regular role in Fox musical drama pilot MIXTAPE, Tracking Board has learned.
Mixtape, writer/executive producer Josh Safran, is described as a romantic musical drama that looks at a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. Safran later explained the series would be “a full-out musical. As much music as ‘Smash.’”
Stowe will play the role of Margot, an actress who carefully controls how she presents herself to the world, but is secretly exhausted by having to do it.
Annapurna’s Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle will also serve as EPs alongside Safran. The project is a co-production between 20th Century Fox Television and Annapurna Television.
This marks Stowe’s first series regular role since wrapping ABC’s Revenge, which ended after four seasons in 2015. She also recently guest starred on Syfy’s 12 Monkeys after starring on the original 1995 movie on which the series is based.
She is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
