Another day, another BEAUTY AND THE BEAST attachment. Stanley Tucci is the latest join the star-studded cast, set to portray a new character in the film. Tucci will voice Cadenza, a grand piano whom Variety described as a neurotic maestro. Tucci’s involvement is the second announced today, following Ewan McGregor’s casting as Lumiere the candelabra. Tucci joins an incredible cast consisting of Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette.
Bill Condon will direct the live-action update of Disney’s 1991 classic, with a script from Stephen Chbosky. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films will produce the musical.
Tucci recently appeared in Transformers: Age Of Extinction and reprised his fan-favorite role as in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. Up next on the slate, the boisterous performer will return for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and will star in the zombie thriller Patient Zero.
