Malcolm D. Lee will direct BARBERSHOP 3 for MGM. The comedy, the third in the successful Barbershop franchise, will follow Calvin (Ice Cube), the owner of a struggling barber shop. Cedric the Entertainer is also looking to reprise his role. The first Barbershop movie was released in 2002.
Lee recently directed the Universal Pictures’ dramedy The Best Man Holiday, about a group of college friends who reunite after 15 years over the Christmas holidays and discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be reignited. He will follow up the success of that picture with The Best Man Wedding, starring Terrence Howard, Taye Diggs, and Nia Long.
