Marc Platt Signs On To Develop Adaptation Of “Shinobi” With Sega

Diehard gamers will be pleased to hear that is partnering with Sega to develop a big screen adaptation of the video game franchise SHINOBI.

Originally released in arcades in 1987, the video game rose to popularity and eventually hit home gaming systems. The game followed a modern-day ninja as he fought against terrorist in different levels using ninjitsu techniques, swords and throwing stars to rescue a group of kidnapped students.

Sega and Platt will produce the movie alongside and , the CEO and president of Hakuhodo DY Group‘s . will oversee the project.

Platt has numerous producing credits to his name including Bridge of Spies and Into The Woods. He’s currently working on the adaptation of The Girl on the Train starring Emily Blunt and Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
