Mark Wahlberg could be re-teaming with Will Ferrell for Paramount’s upcoming comedy DADDY’S HOME. The project centers on the perfect stepdad who finds himself fighting for his family’s affections when their real father comes crashing back into their lives. Ferrell is already attached to play the mild mannered stepdad while Wahlberg is in talks to play the kids’ real father. Originally, Vince Vaughn was set to play the father and Etan Cohen was attached to helm the project. Sean Anders and John Morris are in talks to direct. Wahlberg and Ferrell previously starred in “The Other Guys” together.
Wahlberg has made a name for himself in comedy recently by starring in “Date Night,” “Ted,” and “Pain & Gain.” His upcoming projects are a bit more action packed, they include “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” thriller “The Partner” from John Grisham, and an untitled action/thriller about a computer hacker who sets out to take down the students of a suburban high school. Don’t worry, he hasn’t abandoned comedy – he’s set to star in “Ted 2” as well.
