Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he will return to the Transformers franchise for TRANSFORMERS 5. The actor will reprise his role from Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth entry in Michael Bay’s take on the transforming alien robots. Wahlberg also revealed that he is poised to return for more Transformers films down the line, confirming that there will indeed be more of them, much to the dismay of this reporter. No word yet on the remaining cast or if Bay will return to direct another installment in this never-ending franchise that he’s shepherded.
Wahlberg is known for his “everyman” performances in both franchise blockbusters and dramas. He recently performed under the direction of auteur director Bay in the films Transformers: Age of Extinction and Pain & Gain. He can also be seen in the upcoming thriller The Gambler. Up next, he’ll star in Mojave, Ted 2, and Daddy’s Home, opposite Will Ferrell.
Wahlberg is repped by WME and Leverage Management.
