Martin Campbell is in negotiations to direct Jackie Chan in STX Entertainment’s action-thriller, formerly known as The Foreigner. The Steven Leather novel is being adapted for the big screen by David Marconi and Peter Buchman, with Wayne Godfrey producing.
Campbell’s credits behind the camera include The Mask of Zorro, Edge of Darkness, and Green Lantern, but he’s perhaps best known for his work with the James Bond franchise, directing both Pierce Brosnan in Goldeneye and Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. He is returning to the Chan vehicle after having been attached to Relativity’s Hunter Killer–but that film’s fate has become increasingly uncertain in the wake of its shingle’s current financial woes.
Campbell is repped by CAA.
