Agents of SHIELD alum Amy Acker is swapping one Marvel series for another as she boards Fox’s untitled X-Men pilot in the female lead role. Acker joins the project with Emma Dumont and Percy Hynes White.
The series centers on Stephen Moyer and Acker as ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. Acker’s role, Kate Stewart, is a woman who is struggling with her separation from her husband, Reed (Moyer), and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn she finds that she’s stronger than she thinks.
Dumont has been cast as Lorna Dane, aka Polaris, a strong-willed, brave, and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism. White will play Andy, a sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and a home. They join previously cast Moyer, Natalie Alyn Lind, Blair Redford, Jamie Chung, and Sean Teale.
Matt Nix is penning the pilot and Bryan Singer is set to direct. Nix and Singer executive produce with Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory. 20th Century Fox Television will produce in association with Marvel Television.
Acker is a Joss Whedon-regular having starred in his Much Ado About Nothing adaptation, the Fox series Dollhouse, and Angel. More recently she appeared in Agents of SHIELD as a love interest of Agent Coulson. This Fox series does not exist as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is best known for starring on the CBS drama Person of Interest from Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan.
Acker is repped by APA and Anonymous Content.
Dumont is repped by APA and Untitled Entertainment.
White is repped by Innovative Artists and Oscars Abrams Zimel & Associates.

I hope it’s a challenging role. She’s a wonderfully skilled actor she needs some really strong writing.
