ABC has filled another slot in their highly anticipated adaptation of Marvel’s INHUMANS. Hell on Wheels alum Anson Mount has signed on to star in the key role of Black Bolt, the enigmatic and commanding King of the Inhumans who has a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
Mount joins former Game of Thrones baddie Iwan Rheon, who will play his brother Maximus. The eight-episode straight-to-series drama will be written and exec produced by Scott Buck (Dexter, who will also serve as showrunner. Jeph Loeb from Marvel and Jim Chory have also signed on as executive producers. The drama is set up at Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
Inhumans was originally slated to be a feature film but Marvel decided to pull it from the MCU and split it between IMAX and the small screen. The move makes sense considering its ABC peer Agents of SHIELD, which contains more Inhuman plot points than the movies.
Mount has appeared in many television series including Dollhouse, Lost, and Conviction. His film credits include Safe and Non-Stop.
He is repped by UTA and Brookside Artist Management.
