Matthew Carnahan is moving from Showrunners to gunrunners in his latest adaptation. Carnahan has been tapped to adapt the disturbingly true story of ATF Agent John Dodson and the Fast and Furious scandal, which will be titled RIVER OF IRON. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing with Josh Bratman.
In the mid-2000s, the ATF tried to get around jurisdictional boundries with Mexico by planting guns in the black market that they could trace, which would then allow them to arrest cartel gangs. Unfortunately, the guns were then showing up in violent crimes, and in 2010 cost the ATF one of their own. Dodson came forward to blow the whistle, and had to face Congressional hearings and attacks on his character.
Carnahan penned the recently wrapped drama based on the BP oil spill in the Gulf, Deepwater Horizon, with Mark Walhberg. He also wrote World War Z. He is repped by CAA.
