Matthew Rhys is the latest in a string of stars to join ADAM JONES (formerly known as “Chef”). The Weinstein Company comedy follows a chef who loses his highly-rated restaurant in France tries to mount a comeback in London by re-assembling his team. He joins a bevy of stars, including Bradley Cooper, Uma Thurman, Daniel Bruhl, Jamie Dornan, and Lily James, among others. Rhys has been cast as Reece, a rival chef whose impressive foodscapes are undermined by his outlandish, diva behavior. John Wells is directing from a script written by Steven Knight and Michael Kalesniko.
Welshman Rhys is best known in the States for his role as covert Russian spy Philip Jennings on FX’s series “The Americans.” Before that, Rhys played Kevin Walker on the ABC series “Brothers & Sisters.” His next project is the World War II drama “Darling Buds of May.”
Rhys is repped by WME and Management 360.
