It looks like Max Greenfield is taking a turn into the dramatic. The New Girl actor is in talks to star in the upcoming THE GLASS CASTLE at Lionsgate.
Greenfield will join Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, and Naomi Watts in the adaptation of Jeannette Walls’s memoir a young woman who is raised in a nomadic lifestyle by her alcoholic father and unbalanced mother. Greenfield is eyeing the role of Eric, Jeannette’s (Larson) detached husband who tries his best to help her deal with her past the unexpected arrival of her parents.
The film reunites Larson with Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Cretton. Cretton is also writing the script which has previous drafts of the Andrew Lanham and Marti Noxon. Gill Netter and Erik Feig are producing.
Greenfield recently starred opposite Sally Field in Hello, My Name is Doris. His voice can be heard in the upcoming animated feature, Ice Age: Collision Course. He is also producing the comedy Fist Fight starring Charlie Day and Ice Cube.
