Home and Away actress Samara Weaving has been chosen for the lead role in THE BABYSITTER. The film follows a lonely twelve year-old boy who is in love with his babysitter and discovers some hard truths about life, love, and murder.
Steven Bello of Wonderland Sound & Vision found the project. The script was won by New Line Cinema in a bidding war and while McG was initially only set to produce, last month he changed his mind and took on directing role as well. Wonderland is co-financing the project with Mary Viola producing alongside McG. Bello will executive produce, with Zack Schiller and James McGough. Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, and Dave Neustadter will oversee for New Line.
Weaving is still unknown to U.S. audiences but that will change soon as she can next be seen in the Starz series Ash v. Evil Dead opposite Bruce Campbel
