The sci-fi/techie anthology series DIMENSION 404 at Hulu continues to add a roster of impressive actors. The latest to join the cast are Megan Mullally and Constance Wu. Known for their comedic acting skills, it will definitely be a change of pace to see the two shift gears to something more sci-fi and dramatic.
The show is based on the 404 error code often seen on the Internet and will explore the weird side of the Internet as characters come across stories that cannot explain the world as we know it.
Mullally is set to play Director Stevens, a no-nonsense military commander who oversees a top-secret, cutting-edge NSA project tasked to fight terrorism. Wu will play Jane, a military psychologist on active duty, who would rather spend Christmas leave with her wife and daughter. However, the U.S. government cancels her plans and re-assigns her to a much more vital task: help the NSA’s unusual but most valued agent overcome his performance issues in order to stop a deadly terrorist attack.
The two join a lengthy list of actors in the anthology including Lea Michele, Joel McHale, Sarah Hyland, Patton Oswalt, Ashley Rickards, Sterling Beaumon and Ryan Lee. The series is produced by RocketJump and distributed by Lionsgate. Dimension 404 was created by Dez Dolly and Will Campos, and co-creators Dan Johnson and David Welch. Freddie Wong directs and will executive produce with Matthew Arnold and Dolly.
Mullally recently lent her voice to the animated feature Hotel Transylvania 2 and can be seen in the forthcoming comedy Why Him? opposite Bryan Cranston and James Franco.
Wu is best known for her role as an wildly sensible and overbearing mom in the ABC sitcom Fresh Off The Boat, for which she received a TCA Award nomination. She can be seen next in the horror All the Creatures Were Stirring and was recently cast in Black List screenwriter Jenee LaMarque’s yet-to-be-titled road trip dramedy.
