Megan Mullally is set to bring the funny in the upcoming Fox comedy, WHY HIM. The Will and Grace alum joins Bryan Cranston and James Franco for the movie directed and co-written by John Hamburg. Mullally will play Barb Fleming opposite Cranston’s Ned. The two are a Midwestern married couple who pay a visit to their daughter in college during the holidays and meet her new brash Internet billionaire boyfriend played by Franco.
Ian Helfer co-wrote the film with Hamburg who has also written comedy gems such as Meet the Parents, I Love You, Man, Zoolander, and its upcoming follow up, Zoolander 2. Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and Ben Stiller’s Red Hour will serve as producers. Dan Levine, also from 21 Laps will over see production alongside Fox’s Jeremy Kramer.
Mullally’s other credits include Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital, Bob’s Burgers, and a recurring role playing the ex-wife of her real-life husband, Nick Offerman on Parks and Recreation. She’s also appeared on Broadway in It’s Only A Play. She can be seen next in the new NBC series, You, Me and the Apocalypse.
