Married couple and writing partners Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone can now add directing partners to their resume as they have stepped into the helming chairs for the comedy TAMMY, which they co-wrote.
The story follows a woman (to be played by McCarthy) who is laid off from her job, discovers her husband is having an affair, and decides to go on a road trip with her foul-mouthed, diabetic grandmother.
The duo will produce with Tate Taylor and Kevin Messick.
McCarthy has been shooting to the top of Hollywood with comedic roles in “Bridesmaids” and “This is 40”, as well as her starring role in “Mike and Molly”.
Falcone currently stars in the series “Go On” and “Up All Night” and will star alongside McCarthy in a supporting role in “The Identity Thief”.
They are both repped by CAA.
