Melissa McCarthy Leaves CAA To Sign With UTA, 3rd Major Star To Vacate

Melissa McCarthy has left CAA to sign with UTA following her agent’s departure. McCarthy is the third major star to leave after it was announced that Martin Lesak, Jason Heyman, Greg Cavic, Gregory McKnight, and Nick Nuciforo have left CAA to join UTA in an unforseen exodus. Mackenzie Condon, Chelsea McKinnies, Susie Fox, John Sacks and Joanna Scott have also left for UTA. McCarthy is the third star to vacate following Chris Pratt and Will Ferrell.

McCarthy shot to fame after appearing Paul Feig‘s Bridesmaids, which also earned her a Best Supporting Actress nod. Since, she’s starred in the comedies Identity Thief, The Heat, Tammy, and St. Vincent. She also currently stars on CBS’ Mike and Molly.

Up next, she’ll re-team with Paul Feig for Spy, starring opposite Rose Byrne, Jason Statham, and Jude Law. She’ll also lead the comedy

McCarthy continues to be managed by Christian Donatelli and Courtney Kivowitz at MGMT Entertainment.
