Meryl Streep & Hilary Swank Pony Up For “The Homesman”

and are set to take on Tommy Lee Jone’s pioneer pic .

Story follows a rugged man and a pioneer woman who agree to guide three insane women on a wild journey from Nebraska to Iowa. Swank will play the role of the pioneer woman and there’s no word yet on what role Streep will fill.

Producing will be Tommy Lee Jones and Michael Fitzgerald.

Swank has was last seen in 2011’s romance pic “New Year’s Eve”, while Streep was most currently seen chomping up the screen as Thatcher in “The Iron Lady”. Up next for Streep is an adaptation of Tracy Lett’s play “August: Osage County” and Swank will be seen in “You’re Not You” which she is also producing.
