Mia Wasikowska is in talks to replace Emma Stone (who officially had to drop out due to schedule conflicts) in CRIMSON PEAK, opposite Charlie Hunnam, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jessica Chastain. She would play a young author named Edith Cushing who discovers that her charming new husband (Hunnam) is not who he appears to be.
Guillermo del Toro will produce and direct but he also wrote the original spec with Matthew Robbins and is now rewriting the movie with Lucinda Coxon. Once done, presumably del Toro will throw out whatever else he planned to do with his life and commit solely to making awesome Pacific Rim movies. Oh, that’s not true? Well, it is in my head imagination. And my head imagination would never lie to me.
Wasikowska was last seen being playfully hard in “Stoker” and playing hard to get in “Lawless”. Up next for her is Jim Jarmusch’s “Only Lovers Left Alive”.
She is repped by WME.
