Michael Fassbender is currently in talks to star in Universal’s and Working Title’s THE SNOWMAN, a novel in the Norwegian crime series from Jo Nesbo. Fassbender will be playing the focus of the book series, Harry Hole, an unorthodox detective that solves difficult crimes in and around Oslo. Tomas Alfredson of Let the Right One In fame will direct the film, and Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce for Working Title.
The Snowman is the seventh book in the Harry Hole series. In this story, Hole is called in when a young boy’s mother disappears, leaving behind only a pink scarf (a gift from the boy to the mother) on a mysterious snowman that appeared out of nowhere in the family’s front yard. Hole tracks the child and realizes that he may be looking at Norway’s first serial killer.
Fassbender can be seen next Danny’s Boyle’s biopic, Steve Jobs, and the hit Shakespeare adaptation from Telluride, MacBeth. He is repped by Troika and CAA.
