Michael Ian Black Set For Comedy “Moon Cruise” From “Wet Hot American Summer” Team

Actor-comedian is reteaming with Wet Hot American Summer creators Michael Showalter, Jonathan Stern, and David Wain for MOON CRUISE at TBS. The comedy is described as a half-hour single-camera comedy which is described as The Love Boat but set in space.

Black created the concept of the series. He has also signed on to executive produce alongside Showalter, Stern, and Wain.

This continues the collaborative relationship between Black, Showalter, and Wain. The trio founded the comedy troupe, Stella. The three also joined Thomas Lennon, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Robert Ben Garant, and Joe Lo Truglio to form another comedy group that became the MTV series The State.

Black is set to reprise his role as McKinley in Netflix’s second revival of Wet Hot American Summer titled 10 Years Later. He also appears in the indie comedy Slash and has a role in the Central series Another Period.
