Michael Mann has put his name in the hat to potentially direct Fox’s adaptation of A.J. Baime’s book “Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and their Battle For Speed and Glory at Le Mans” The feature, simply titled RACE TO THE DEATH is penned by Jason Keller and chronicles the true story of the competition between the Ford Motor Company and Italian sports car designer Enzo Ferrari, which culminated at the 1966 Le Mans race. Alexander F. Young will produce.
Much like the battle brewing between Relativity Media and Warner Bros. over their “Snow White” features, the story of the 1966 race may prove to bring a similar feud between Fox and Paramount, who has their own version of the story, which they expect to lift off the ground shortly.
Mann is repped by CAA.
