Mikael Persbrandt is the latest actor cast in Guy Ritchie’s KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE: KING ARTHUR. He joins Charlie Hunnam, Eric Bana, and Astrid Berges-Frisbey in the epic fantasy project that is the first in a planned six-part franchise. Though the plot details are still being kept under wraps, the project is a reimagining of the epic story of King Arthur and his legendary knights of Camelot. Ritchie is directing for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow from a script penned by Joby Harold.
Hunnam is starring as King Arthur while Bana is set for Uther, his father. Berges-Frisbey has been cast as Guinevere and Persbrandt is said to play a villain.
The Swedish actor was featured as the shapeshifter Beorn in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies. He also appeared in The Salvation with Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green.
Persbrandt is repped by Open Entertainment.
