Mike Cahill has been tapped to direct the adaptation of Lev Grossman’s THE MAGICIANS. The Syfy series centers on a group of twentysomethings who find that the magical world they imagined as kids really does exist but proves to be more dangerous than they suspected. Cahill will direct the pilot episode, which is being written by John McNamara and Sera Gamble, with Michael London producing.
This project will be Cahill’s first foray into directing for the small screen. His previous writing/directing credits include sci-fi dramas “Another Earth” and “I Origins,” which stars Michael Pitt as a molecular biologist who finds evidence that will change society as we know it.
Cahill is repped by WME.
