Mac is making Minecraft. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-creator and co-star Rob McElhenney has been selected by Mojang AB to direct the film adaptation of the best-selling video game. A search for a writer is still underway.
The game has sold over 10 million copies on XBox alone, and the open-concept allows limitless ideas for the plot of the movie, much like The Lego Movie, that Warner Bros. is also behind.
McElhenney is repped by WME and 3Arts Entertainment.
