And the voice of Leonardo in the upcoming TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES is… Johnny Knoxville? That’s right, the man behind “Jackass,” “Jackass 2,” “Jackass 3,” and “Bad Grampa” will be the leader of our half-shelled heroes. This is just my opinion but, don’t you think he should be voicing Michelangelo? To me, that would make way more sense as Michelangelo is the goof ball of the group while Leonardo is supposed to play it straight. Anyway, he is not the only bit of TMNT casting news this morning, they have also found their voice to Master Splinter with Tony Shalhoub, which is a great choice. Pete Ploszek played the role of Leonardo during the filming with Danny Woodburn playing Splinter. Sorry guys, you just got David Prowse’d.
The story will be a reboot of the four Ninjitsu-trained turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello and their sensei, Master Splinter, battling evil on the rooftops and in the sewers of New York.
Knoxville was just in “Bad Grampa,” “Movie 43,” and “The Last Stand.” Shalhoub is best known for playing the title character on “Monk” and was most recently in “Pain & Gain.”
