Morgan Freeman will star in the period horse drama BEAUTIFUL JIM KEY. Based on the true story of William Key, the story follows a Civil War veteran who taught his horse Beautiful Jim to read, spell and do math. Key was a former slave relegated to carnivals until he recruited P.T. Barnum to promote his act which led to the horse becoming a national sensation. This project marks the directorial debut of Robert Rodat who also penned the script.
