“The Descendants” scribes Nat Faxon and Jim Rash have signed with WME, leaving CAA in favor of the agency. The Oscar winning writers are known for penning the Fox Searchlight drama “The Descendants” starring George Clooney and Shailene Woodley as well as writing and directing “The Way, Way Back” last year. The duo are also actors: next up, Faxon will appear in the Melissa McCarthy comedy “Tammy,” while Rash will lend his voice to the animated “Yellowbird.” Behind the scenes, Faxon and Rash are set to write and helm drama “The Birches,” produce crime/thriller “The Eel,” which stars “Way, Way Back’s” Sam Rockwell, and produce, write and direct “The Heart,” an action/comedy starring Allison Janney, Kristen Wiig, and, again, Sam Rockwell.
Faxon is still repped by Principato-Young Entertainment and Rash is still with Intellectual Artists.
