“The average American spends seven time as many hours watching television as they do on Facebook and 15 times more hours on television than they do watching YouTube,” said Linda Yaccarino, chief of Advertising sales and Client Partnerships, at NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall Monday morning. It’s a statement that sets a tone for NBCU’s approach to the fall across networks. While CBS is developing exclusively for CBS All Access, and ABC fights to retain stacking rights, NBCU is trying to prove that the cord-cutting generation hasn’t given up on traditional television as much as you would think.

The presentation moved on to the fun stuff fairly quickly, highlighting upcoming summer programming on USA, with Christian Slater and Rami Malek introducing a trailer for season two of Mr. Robot, and E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians, with the infamous sister discussing a trip to Cuba on the series.

E! has a new reality series looking into the life of songstress Mariah Carey, with Carey brought out on stage carried by shirtless men after an introduction by the face of Bravo, Andy Cohen. E! also provided a trailer for their newest scripted drama, The Arrangement.

THE ARRANGEMENT

Additional video highlights included trailers for USA’s new series Shooter and Falling Water and clips of NBC’s drama This Is Us and Emerald City.

FALLING WATER

As for their fall schedule, NBC is sticking with comedy on Thursday, bringing over Superstore for season two and pairing it with The Good Place starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Joining the series duo are Trial & Error and the Tina Fey-Robert Carlock produced series Great News.

On the drama side, breakout hit Blindspot is shifting to Wednesdays while new series Timeless takes the vacated slot on Monday nights. For The New Celebrity Apprentice, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, they’ll be premiering after the election (starring former Celebrity Apprentice host, Donald Trump).
