Veep Alum and SNL writer Neil Casey has nabbed an integral role in Sony’s GHOSTBUSTERS reboot. Casey joins Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, and fellow Veep star Matt Walsh in the pic, as the three were announced yesterday. Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Chris Hemsworth will also star. Details about Casey’s role are being kept under lock and key, but sources reveal that he’ll be playing the villain, named Rowan.
Production is currently underway in Boston, with a tentative release date of July 22, 2016. Paul Feig is helming the female-driven reboot, based off a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold.
Casey has appeared in a number of comedy series, including Kroll Show, Broad City, The League, Inside Amy Schumer, and Marry Me. He made his feature debut in Nick Kroll’s comedy Adult Beginners, which co-starred Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrne, and Joel McHale. He’ll next appear in the indie drama Fort Tilden for Orion Pictures.
Casey is repped by UTA.
