Aquaman star Jason Momoa has a very busy few years ahead of him as Netflix has renewed his series FRONTIER prior to the show’s premiere. The six-episode series is set to debut on Discovery Canada and is still waiting for a premiere date from Netflix.
Frontier follows the rough-and-tumble fur trade in North American in the 18th century and the clashes between the newly arrived Europeans and the region’s aboriginal tribes.
The project was penned by Peter Blackie and Rob Blackie, with ASAP Entertainment’s Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson executive producing.
The news comes after Netflix announced that they are raising a billion dollars through a new debt offering, bringing their total to three billion dollars. Their goal is to make about half of their library of movies and television original content.
In addition to a second season of Frontier, Momoa will star in next year’s Justice League and follow-up with a solo spin-off in Aquaman.
