Domhnall Gleeson will share the screen with Will Forte in Netflix feature A FUTILE AND STUPID GESTURE. David Wain is directing the film from a script penned by Michael Colton and John Aboud, adapted from the book by Josh Karp.
The film follows Gleeson and Forte as two men who founded National Lampoon which became the massive franchise that spawned such infamous comedies as Caddyshack and Animal House. Forte was recently cast as Doug Kenney, while Gleeson is set as Henry Beard.
Peter Principato and Jonathan Stern are producing. Colton and Aboud will executive produce alongside The Office’s Ed Helms, Ted Hamm, Benjamin Ormand, and Sean McKittrick.
Gleeson was most recently seen in The Revenant, Brooklyn, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He will next be seen in Crash Pad and opposite Tom Cruise in Mena.
He is repped by Paradigm and The Agency in Dublin.
