“New Girl” Star Zooey Deschanel Ditches CAA For UTA

Zooey-Deschanel New Girl star has left CAA for rival UTA, sources have confirmed. Countless clients in the comedy landscape have left the titan for UTA in the last several months, including Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell and Sarah Silverman.

In 2013, Deschanel was previously at UTA breifly before returning to  longtime CAA. Deschanel’s move coincides with the dozen CAA  that left in a max exodus starting back in March.

Aside from her work on New Girl, Deschanel most recently starred in the 2011 Paul Rudd comedy Our Idiot Brother. Up next, the 500 Days of Summer and Elf star will appear opposite Bill Murray and Bruce Willis in the comedy Rock the Kasbah and is set to portray legendary musician Janis Joplin in the biopic The Gospel According to Janis.

But first, she can be seen opposite Anton Yelchin, Aubrey Plaza, and John Hawkes in the ensemble comedy The Driftless Area, which had a initial limited release back in April.
