The Good Place and Parks and Recreation creator Mike Schur has a new comedy on the horizon at NBC: LANDLORDS. Matt Murray, who worked with Schur on Parks and Rec, wrote the pilot and will be executive producing with Schur. The series has been given a put pilot commitment from the network.
The series follows a young couple who become landlords as they venture out into adulthood, encountering many difficult and interesting challenges.
David Miner will also be executive producing. He’s worked with both Schur and Murray on Parks and Rec, The Good Place, and Schur’s Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Schur has been in the television world for a long time and has always had a strong relationship with NBC. He started on Saturday Night Live, before really finding his groove on The Office. He then created Parks and Rec, which initially began as a spinoff from The Office before becoming its own show. Now he’s one of NBC’s biggest creators.
Murray has written and consulted for various award shows as well as Seasons 30 and 32 of Saturday Night Live, before working on Community and The Cleveland Show. He first worked with Schur on Parks and Rec and they have stuck together ever since.
