River Road Entertainment and Pacific Standard have tapped to write , the adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s memoir “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail”.

The project follows Cheryl’s true story of hiking the Pacific crest Trail from the Mojave Desert to the state of Washington to revitalize herself after her mother died and her marriage fell apart. Despite not having any hiking experience, Cheryl completed the 1,100 trek.

Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea are producing.

A novelist and screenwriter, Hornby has seen his books “High Fidelity” and “About a Boy” turned into films and wrote the for “Fever Pitch” and “An Education”. He is currently working on the script for the period drama “Brooklyn”.
