Music-driven indie film HEARTS BEAT LOUD has found its lead in Nick Offerman. The Parks and Rec alum will be reuniting with Brett Haley, reuniting the pair that worked together on The Hero. Kiersey Clemons co-stars as Offerman’s daughter in the film.
This project serves as Offerman’s first lead role. Offerman plays Frank, who forms a songwriting duo with his daughter before she leaves for college. Offerman and Clemons will both sing in the film, which will feature original songs by Keegan DeWitt.
Offerman has shown such overflowing charisma with touching sentiment in his career. Yet sentiment and singing are totally different things… can he do both?
Offerman played the saxophone during his time on Parks and Rec, and is known to play guitar with his wife, however we still haven’t seen the star show off his vocals in a lead role. Time will tell if Offerman has the knack for singing, as shooting begins next month
Producers on the film include Houston King, Sim Bisbee, and Sam Slater. Franklin Carson, Paul Bernon, David Bernon, Theodora Dunlap, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, Lance Acord, Danny Rifkin, Frank Brenner, and Offerman will all executive produce. WME is overseeing sales on the film from Park Pictures, Burn Later Productions, and Houston King Productions.
