Nickelodeon Announces That It Has Plans For Its 90s Library

, the president of content and at , has let the public know that many of the shows that made the network what it is today may be getting a nostalgic second shot.

“We are looking at our library to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way,” Hicks recently stated.

This could merely mean that there will be a round of syndicated Nicktoons that lead to reboots of the beloved series, or it could mean something bigger. Imagine catching up with Pete, and his younger brother Pete, as they dealt with there own children. What if Doug Funnie had to deal with an embarrassing Instagram? Does “fresh new way” mean modern reboots of 90s favorites, or are we looking at collaborations or further pushes into new media?

As a child who grew up on Double Dare, I’m (cautiously) excited to see what, if anything, happens to some of my favorite childhood characters.
