Nicolas Winding Refn in Talks to Push the “Button Man”



, best known for directing the violent Ryan Gosling-starrer “Drive”, is in talks with Dreamworks to helm its upcoming action thriller .

The pic is an adaptation of “Button Man: The Killing Game”, a graphic novel by John Wagner and Arthur Ranson. The story follows an assassin called Harry Exton, hired by a bored millionaire to be pitted against other millionaires’ assassins in a fight-to-the-death. When Exton decides to leave the game, he realizes he must get past the millionaires first.

The most recent draft of the script was penned by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who also wrote “The Illusionist” and “The Girlfriend Experience” together. Zach Schiff-Abrams, Michael De Luca and Stephen Levinson are producing with Roger E. Kass Esq. and Josh Braun executive producing.

Refn is currently in on the “Logan’s Run” remake, which he will also direct, and just wrapped filming on “Only God Forgives”, a thriller that he wrote, directed and produced.
