Nina Dobrev is in talks to join Ellen Page and Diego Luna for Sony’s remake of FLATLINERS.
The Vampire Diaries alum is eyeing the role of Marlo, an overachieving student at the top of her class. The reboot of the ’90s sci-fi psychological thriller will be directed by Neils Arden Oplev and was written by Ben Ripley. Michael Douglas and Laurence Mark will serve as producers.
The original film was directed by Joel Schumacher and starred Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt. It told the story of a group of med students who experiment with life and death on themselves. While doing so they open the door to tragedies from their past and begin to face consequences that begin to haunt their lives.
Dobrev recently starred in the indie comedy horror pic The Final Girls. Her previous movie credits include Let’s Be Cops and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She can be seen next in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel and in the romantic comedy Crash Pad with Domhnall Gleeson and Christina Applegate.
She is repped by CAA and Noble Caplan Abrams.
