Octavia Spencer is set to co-star with Leslie Mann in DreamWorks upcoming comedy LAS MADRES. The story follows three Chicago moms who have recently found themselves unemployed and decide to go after a criminal for the reward money.
Spencer has long been known for her (sometimes) minor but hilarious roles in “Beauty Shop” and “Dinner for Schmucks.” She also added levity to her dramatic role as Minny in her Oscar winning performance in “The Help.” Among her many upcoming projects, Spencer will appear in James Brown biopic “Get On Up,” Mike Binder’s drama “Black and White,” and the DreamWorks animated comedy “B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations.” She will also appear in the Steven Spielberg produced coming of age comedy “Red Band Society” on Fox.
