Stephen Root has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy MIKE AND DAVE NEED WEDDING DATES. He joins Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza in the story following two brothers that find wedding dates through an online ad that goes viral. When their dates arrive, they end up getting much more than they bargained for. Root is set to play the father of Efron’s character. The script has been written by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, who sold the film with a pitch to Fox 2000.
Known for his role in the comedy Office Space and his voice role on King Of The Hill, Root is set to star in the Kevin Smith drama series Hit Somebody.
Root is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment.
