It looks like Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, and Thomas Kretschmann are in talks to star in Peter Briggs’ “PANZER 88.” It is not clear what roles these men would take in the story about a German tank crew who encounters a supernatural entity protecting a small Russian village, but I think it’s a safe bet that if they do sign on, they will be playing some Germans.
The film, written by Peter Briggs, James Cowen, and Aaron Mason, is being produced by Gary Kurtz and co-produced by Priscilla Ross.
Oldman is best known for his role as Lt. Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” trilogy will be seen next in the “Robocop” remake and the follow up to “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes,” “Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.” He’s repped by APA.
Baruchel most recently starred in “This Is The End” and can also be seen in the upcoming “Robocop.” He’ll then follow that up by reprising his voice role as Hiccup in “How To Train Your Dragon 2.” He’s repped by CAA.
Kretschmann, who is best known for Peter Jackson’s “King Kong” and his role in 2008’s “Wanted,” can next be seen in “Open Grave” with Sharlto Copley. He’s repped by APA.
