Could this be a ‘Perfect’ bit of casting? There’s word today that One Direction singer Harry Styles has accepted a supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II action adventure pic, DUNKIRK. Styles joins previously cast Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Bridge of Spies Oscar winner Mark Rylance.
The Interstellar director’s upcoming project, which he also wrote, focuses on the evacuation of Dunkirk, France that took place in the beginning of World War II. Nolan is producing with his partner Emma Thomas through their Syncopy Films at Warner Bros.
British actors Aneurin Barnard and Jack Lowden are also up for more substantial roles, while newcomer Fionn Whitehead is circling a leading role. As with most of Nolan’s projects, information is scarce, but it looks like the filmmaker is preparing to move from pre-production, which began last fall, into production, with an expected release date of 2017.
Styles is repped by CAA.
Barnard is repped by The Artists Partnership and UTA.
Lowden is repped by UTA.
