The Emmy-nominated comedy BLACK-ISH is adding another high-profile guest star to their roster. Orange is the New Black star Lorraine Toussaint has been tapped to appear on the sitcom as the sister of Laurence Fishburne’s character, Pops.
Toussaint will play Almaviligerais, who is also known as “A.V.” She is described as someone who is always on the hustle, pulls no punches and is down for whatever, she is strongly disliked by Ruby (Jenifer Lewis) so Dre (Anthony Anderson) has to conceal his love for her whenever Ruby is around.
She is set to appear in one episode during the third season of Black-ish which premieres on September 21.
In addition to her role as the scheming Vee on OITNB, Toussaint stars on the Fox drama Rosewood as well as The Fosters on Freeform. Her recent film credits include Ava DuVernay’s Selma and the comedy The Night Before.
