Known for his role in fantasy-adventure franchises, actor Orlando Bloom has joined HBO’s upcoming mockumentary TOUR DE PHARMACY. The film, co-created by Andy Samberg and Murray Miller, will focus on professional cycling and its long, complicated history with athletes and drug use. It is not known yet what Bloom’s role in the film will be.
This is the second HBO sports mockumentary collaboration between Samberg and Miller. Their first, 7 Days in Hell, focused on tennis and the longest match of the game in history. This new film will be produced under their Legends of Sport banner, just as the first one was. Miller also wrote the project and 7 Days’ director Jake Szymanski is back to direct once more.
Samberg, Miller, and Szymanski are all co-executive producing, alongside David Bernad. M. Elizabeth Hughes is set to produce.
Bloom joins an all-star cast, including Samberg, Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs, Will Forte, Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Dolph Lundgren, Mike Tyson, and Nathan Fielder. He is best known for his roles in franchises like The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean and will next be seen in the films Romans and Unlocked.
