The Oscars aren’t just about one big night — there’s a whole week of celebrating. In the week leading up to the 87th Annual Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences puts on a series of celebrations for the Short Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Animated Feature, Foreign Language Film, and Makeup and Hairstyling categories. It’s a chance for the outstanding nominees in these categories to gain the recognition they deserve.
These events will be held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Tuesday, February 17, 7 p.m.
OSCAR WEEK: SHORTS
Hosted by Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings), the program delves into the Animated Short Film and Live Action Short Film categories and features complete screenings of all the nominated films and includes onstage panel discussions with the filmmakers (schedules permitting).
Wednesday, February 18, 7:30 p.m.
OSCAR WEEK: DOCS
Hosted by Rob Epstein (The Times of Harvey Milk) and Tabitha Jackson, the program features clips from the nominated films in Documentary Feature and Documentary Short Subject categories, as well as onstage panel discussions with the filmmakers (schedules permitting). Jackson is currently the director of the documentary film program at the Sundance Institute.
Thursday, February 19, 7:30 p.m.
OSCAR WEEK: ANIMATED FEATURES
Hosted by Oscar-winning directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee (Frozen), the evening features the year’s nominees in the Animated Feature Film category (schedules permitting) discussing their creative processes and presenting clips showing off their amazing techniques.
Saturday, February 21, 10 a.m.
OSCAR WEEK: FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILMS
Hosted by Producers Branch governor Mark Johnson (Rain Man), the two-hour event will feature directors of the nominated films (schedules permitting) discussing a wide range of topics, from their experiences developing their projects to the challenges of their profession.
Saturday, February 21, 3 p.m.
OSCAR WEEK: MAKEUP AND HAIRSTYLING SYMPOSIUM
Moderated by Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch governor Leonard Engelman (Moonstruck), the nominees in the Makeup and Hairstyling category (schedules permitting) will share with the public the secrets behind their on-screen work. Memorabilia – including photographs,, molds, wigs, and other items – will be on display in the theatre lobby.
Tickets to these events will be made available online at Oscars.org starting Friday, February 6, at 10 a.m. PST.

The 87th Oscars will be held on Sunday, Feb, 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. They will be televised live on ABC at 7 pm EST/4 pm PST.
